The purpose of the PICS-E group is to provide a networking platform and support system to Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse Educators throughout the UK. The group meets every 6 months to share ideas, compare practice and develop and review current and future standards for PIC nurse education from orientation to Post Graduate specialism.

Level 3 Critical Care Skill Passport
In 2014 a level one and two Critical Care Nursing Skills Passport was published in collaboration with the Paediatric Intensive Care Society. This can be found via
There is no published level 3 Critical Care Nursing Skills Passport. In the interim our colleagues at Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS FT are willing to share a Skills Passport, until such a document can be created which might benefit us all. This passport is incorporated into the Intensive Care Foundation Programme Education Programme.
The Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS FT own the intellectual property to this document and cannot be held responsible for its use outside of the BCH NHS FT.
